Product Description:
BURN BARRIER™ 130 Class “B” Fire Retardant Varnish Overcoat is primarily designed as a topcoat for BURN BARRIER™ 129 Fire Retardant Varnish BaseCoat. BURN BARRIER™
130 is available in three sheens, i.e. low, semi or hi-gloss BURN BARRIER™ 129 and BURN BARRIER™ 130 coating system is recommended for use on wood paneling, woodwork, doors, door frames and other surfaces which are subjected to constant scuffing, handling or may require frequent washing. These coatings contain no water soluble ingredients, and will not leach or turn white on aging or washing. BURN BARRIER™ 130 dries to a uniform sheen in approximately four hours, and is suitable for use on both INTERIOR and EXTERIOR surfaces. On exterior exposure the life expectancy is similar to that of conventional alkyd varnishes. BURN BARRIER™ 130 is manufactured with Rule 66 Mineral Spirits and possesses no strong or unpleasant odor during application. Note: To comply with the Underwriters’ Laboratories Class “B” fire hazard classification(ratings) established, BURN BARRIER™ 129 fire retardant varnish base coat, must be applied prior to the application of BURN BARRIER™ 130.

Surface Preparation:
After the application of BURN BARRIER™ 129 Fire Retardant Varnish Base Coat has been completed, allow the surface to dry a minimum of 24hours, lightly sand or steel wool.
Remove all dust, dirt, etc., from the surface before the application of BURN BARRIER™ 130.

Application:
BURN BARRIER™ 130 can be applied by brush, roller or spray. Stir material well before using, then apply a uniform coat at a coverage rate up to 600sq. ft./gallon. In hard use areas
or where excessive wear is expected, a second coat is suggested. Allow at least 24 hours drying time between coats.

Drying Time:
Dries to touch in approximately four hours. Allow at least 24 hours drying time before overcoating.

Thinners:
For thinning use only BURN BARRIER™ 130 reducer. MINERAL SPIRITS or BURN BARRIER™ 130 Reducer maybe used for cleaning.

WARNING:
Adequate ventilation must be provided during and after application until the coating has dried. Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist.

CAUTION:
The liquid coating contains volatile (combustible) solvents. Due care must be exercised during and after application until coating is dry.

Fire Tests:
Flame Spread Rating: Class “B”. When tested in accordance with ASTM E-84 (NFPA255) the coating obtained the following fire hazard classification. A complete report from the Underwriters’ Laboratories is available upon request.
